Badagry(Lagos State), Sept. 2, 2025 (NAN) The Chairman of Badagry Local Government Area of Lagos State, Mr Babatunde Hunpe, says the council will distribute 400 General Certificate Examination (GCE) forms to students across the council area.
Speaking at a news conference in the council’s Secretariat on Tuesday, Hunpe said the 2025 exercise would be merit-driven, transparent, and results-oriented.
According to him, hundreds of students in Badagry are set to benefit from this major educational support initiative.
“Beneficiaries will be required to submit their results to the council after the examinations.
“Those who perform excellently in the GCE will be considered for free JAMB forms, and from that pool, students who also distinguished themselves in JAMB will be awarded scholarships,” he said.
Hunpe said that the council would provide free coaching to help students prepare effectively.
“This initiative is not just about sharing forms; it is about monitoring progress, rewarding excellence, and investing in the future of Badagry,” he said.
Hunpe disclosed that the programme received a major boost with a generous contribution of an illustrious son of the area, Mr Samuel Ajose, who donated 200 extra GCE forms.
According to the chairman, this is to complement the 200 earlier set aside by the council, bringing the total number of beneficiaries to 400.
He lauded Ajose for the gesture and urged other well-meaning individuals, philanthropists, and organisations to partner the council to rekindle students’ interest in education.
“With these interventions, Badagry local government area is determined to open doors of opportunity and nurture a culture of excellence where diligence is rewarded,” he added. (NAN)
