Barber docked for allegedly stealing cell phone

A 21-year-old barber, Segun Orimisan was on Friday docked in an Okitipupa Chief Magistrates’ Court in Ondo State for allegedly stealing a Samsung A31 phone worth N115,000.

The police charged Orimisan, whose address was not given with felony and theft,

The Prosecution Counsel,  Zedekiah Orogbemi, told the court that the defendant committed the offence on Oct. 23 around 4p.m at Love Hostel, Igbodigo in Okitipupa Magisterial district.

He said the defendant stole the phone, property of Emmanuel Adeniyi in his resident.

The offence, he said, is punishable under sections 516 and 390(9), Criminal Code, Cap.37, Vol. 1, Laws of Ondo State 2006.

The defendant, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge.

Chief Magistrate Chris Ojuola admitted the defendant to bail in the sum of N100,000 and two sureties in like sums.

Ojuola ordered that the sureties must present evidence of two years tax payment to the state government.

He, adjourned the case until Jan. 11, 2022 for further hearing of the case. (NAN)
