Bayern Munich takes on Borussia in La liga battle

Bayern Munich will be hoping to secure their ninth consecutive Bundesliga title when they take on Borussia Monchengladbach on Saturday.

Following a week-long hiatus, the Bundesliga returns to action this weekend, with league leaders Bayern Munich hoping to secure the title by securing points in their game on Saturday afternoon against Borussia Monchengladbach at the Allianz Arena.

Currently leading the table by a margin of seven points, with three matches remaining, Bayern Munich must grab all three points in order to secure the title themselves. Alternatively, they could hope RB Leipzig to lose their clash against Borussia Dortmund, in what will be a rehearsal of next week’s DFB Pokal final.

The Bavarians are coming on the back of a 2-1 defeat to 1.FSV Mainz – a result that delayed their inevitable coronation. And while Gladbach may seem like a tougher nut to crack on paper, the Foals have had a mixed run of form, of late.

Gladbach did, however, secure a thumping 5-0 win over Arminia Bielefeld in their most recent game and had also recently beaten Eintracht Frankfurt 4-0. These results have had a massive impact in the relegation fight as well as the race for the top four places, but it has also enabled Marco Rose’s men to make a late push for the top six spots.

The Foals are currently trailing sixth-placed Bayer Leverkusen by four points, and the gap could potentially be reduced to just one, should they win against Bayern Munich.
