Vienna, Jan. 13, 2026 (dpa/NAN) Operations at Vienna Airport were temporarily suspended on Tuesday due to weather conditions.

“We assume that the situation will persist until around 11 a.m (1000 GMT),” a spokesman told the APA news agency on Tuesday morning.

Incoming flights have been redirected to other airports, such as Munich, Frankfurt, Cologne and Venice.

The departures were consequently delayed.

According to the airport, a thick layer of ice had formed on the apron, taxiways and runways, which was immediately refreezing after de-icing.

The spokesman said that intensive efforts are being made to resume flight operations as quickly as possible. (dpa/NAN)
