In-form Nigeria midfielder, John Chibuike scored a goal as Rosenborg beat Odd Grenland 3-2 to go to the top of the Norwegian Eliteserien on Sunday.
Chibuike got the curtain raiser on 39 minutes, and it seemed they were cruising to a convincing victory when Borek Dockal and Daniel Berntsen added to the tally in the 45th and 62nd minutes respectively.
Odd battled back late in the game to make the scores more respectable with Frode Johnsen and Herolind Shala getting the consolation goals.
The leaders, Stromsgodset, lost 1-2 at Sandnes Ulf and Rosenborg now have a 2-point lead over them.
Chibuike has scored 5 goals in his last four games, though three of them were against Irish minnows Crusaders in the UEFA Europa League 1st qualifying round.
However, it was not rosy for all of the Nigerian contingent in Norway at the weekend as Solomon Owello got sent off in stoppage time in Start’s 3-3 draw with Brann at the Sør Arena, while Daniel Chima fired blanks as Molde forced Viking to a 1-1 draw.
Fegor Ogude was not listed in Valerenga’s impressive 2-1 victory at Honefoss on Friday.
