The Cross River chapter of the Conference of Nigeria Political Parties (CNPP) says it has reunited to entrench good governance in the state.
CNPP, in a statement issued after its stakeholders’ meeting in Calabar on Thursday, said it had decided to put the internal wrangling that had led to fictionalization in the state behind it.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the statement was signed by Mr. Martin Bujor and Chief Ojong Arthur, Chairman and Secretary of the elders’ council, respectively.
The organization said that the differences among its members had been resolved, adding that it was now ready to reclaim its position in the political space of the state.
The statement said that part of the agreement was to restructure the organization’s leadership along the lines of accountability and transparency.
As part of the move to resolve the leadership crisis, the statement said that the Paddy Ally-led executive should continue in office.
It said that the stakeholders equally suggested that enough time be given to them to organize an election to put in place a new CNPP leadership in the state. (NAN)
