A Shari’a Court sitting in Kano on Friday ordered two teenagers, who pleaded guilty to stealing an Infinix Hot 10 phone worth N65,000, be remanded in a Correctional Centre.

Salim Ibrahim, 19, and Faruk Tijjani,17, residents of Sheka Sabuwar Gandu Quarters, Kano, were charged with criminal conspiracy and theft.

The judge, Dr Bello Khalid, ordered that the defendants be remanded in a correctional centre, pending sentencing.

He adjourned the matter until Dec. 7, for sentence.

Earlier, the prosecutor, Mr. Abdul Wada, had told the court that the defendants committed the offence on Nov. 8, at Sheka Sabuwar Gandu Quarters in Kumbotso Local Government Area of Kano.

He said on the same date one Abba Ahmed reported the matter at Sheka Police Station, Kano.

Wada alleged that at about 9. 00 p.m., the defendants conspired among themselves, deceived and collected the complainant’s Infinix handset worth N65,000 from his seven-year-old son on his way to his neighbours house to charge the phone.

He said the offence contravened the provision of sections 120 and 133 of the Kano State Sharia Law. (NAN)
