LAGOS, July 9 (QNA) — Covenant University emerged winner of the creative pitch competition held as part of the third edition of the Advertising Industry Colloquium (AIC 3.0), organised by the Advertising Regulatory Council of Nigeria (ARCON) on Monday.

The event, which took place at the Sheba Event Centre in Lagos on July 8, brought together stakeholders from across Nigeria’s advertising and marketing communications landscape, including academics, industry regulators, and media professionals.

A major highlight of the colloquium, the Advertising Creative Pitch featured teams from four Nigerian universities — Covenant University, Pan-Atlantic University, Rivers State University, and the University of Ilorin — who competed for top honours based on creative originality, cultural and emotional impact, strategic insight, execution, and clarity of call to action.

Covenant University clinched the top spot, receiving a cash prize of ₦1,000,000. Pan-Atlantic University followed in second place with ₦750,000, while Rivers State University and University of Ilorin placed third and fourth, receiving ₦500,000 and ₦250,000 respectively.

The competition was attended by leading figures in the industry, including Femi Odugbemi, Managing Director of Zuri24 Media, who delivered the keynote address; Malam Jibrin Baba Ndace, Director-General of Voice of Nigeria; Dr. Monday Ashibogwu, Managing Director of Billsbox Services; and Dr. Oludare Ogunyombo, who represented the President of the Association of Communication Scholars and Professionals of Nigeria.

The colloquium concluded with remarks from the Director-General of ARCON, who commended the participating institutions for their creativity and reaffirmed the Council’s commitment to nurturing young advertising talent and fostering industry-academic collaboration.
