Mr. Ibrahim Adeshina, a director at Zeka Global Company Limited, has said that the company is not in possession of 32 heavy-duty construction equipment belonging to the Cross River Government.
Adesina made the denial while speaking to newsmen shortly after a meeting with the state House of Assembly committee set up to investigate the matter.
It would be recalled that the Cross River House of Assembly recently declared 32 heavy-duty construction equipment belonging to the state missing.
The assembly had said that seven out of the missing pieces of equipment were recovered at Obudu and sent to Calabar.
Meanwhile, Adeshina said that his company was never in possession of such equipment and did not at any time lease out equipment belonging to the state government.
He said the only pieces of equipment in the firm’s possession were a grader and a backo, which were given to it to expedite the completion of the Odukpani interchange project.
”We urge the assembly to carry out an inspection tour of our facility to ascertain the true situation of things.
”We never looted any equipment; we don’t have any projects at the Obudu International Cargo Airport,” he said.
He said that the company enjoyed a very cordial relationship with the state government in the course of undertaking projects.
”We want this relationship to remain alive. We are a responsible corporate entity,” he said.(NAN)
