Customs decorates 66 senior officers in Seme

Seme (Lagos State), Sept.19, 2025 (NAN) The Seme Area Command of Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has decorated 66 newly promoted senior officers in the command with their ranks.
Mr Isa Sulaiman, the spokesman for the command in a statement on Friday said the ceremony took place at ECOWAS Complex, Joint Border Post (JBP), Seme-Krake.
Sulaiman said that Comptroller Wale Adenuga, the Customs Area Controller (CAC) of NCS, Seme Command reminded the officers that promotion comes with honour and responsibility.
“It also comes with humility. It is not a licence for pride, but a call to greater service.
“Carry your junior colleagues along, celebrate with one another, and let us make Seme Area Command the pride of the Service,” Adenuga said.
The CAC praised the Comptroller-General of Customs, Adewale Adeniyi, and his management team for their tireless efforts in ensuring a fair and transparent promotion exercise.
Adenuga emphasised the command’s  commitment to supporting Adeniyi whose leadership mantra is ‘trade facilitation.’
He added that the command would continue to engage stakeholders’ to ensure that the border remains the pride of the Service and the best in the West African sub-region.
Speaking on behalf of the decorated officers, CSC Oreyeni Olufemi expressed gratitude to the CGC, the CAC, colleagues and families.
He pledged that the officers would justify the confidence reposed on them and continue to contribute to the success of the Service.
The event was graced by heads of the sister security agencies at the Joint Border Post.
The agencies include the Nigeria Immigration Service, Department State Service, Port Health Service, National Drug Law Enforcement Agency and National Agency For Food and Drug Administration and Control
Others are, Nigeria Agricultural Quarantine Service and Anti-Bomb Unit as well as family members. (NAN)
