Bayelsa State Governor, Hon. Seriake Dickson has condoled the Ogola family over the demise of Reverend Edward Ogola, who was interred over the weekend in Sagbama, headquarters of Sagbama Local Government Area.
Speaking at the Ogola residence in Sagbama, Governor Dickson described late Rev Ogola as an efficient, humble and honest man, who served in the Nigeria Police Force.
The Governor, who recalled his days as a youth in the Ogola household in the 1980s, said the deceased was like a father to him and many others.
Eulogizing Reverend Ogola, he noted that, the octogenarian lived a fulfilled life worthy of emulation pointing out that he was identifying with the bereaved family not to mourn, but to celebrate a life well lived.
The Governor urged members of the bereaved family to uphold the legacies left behind by the late Reverend Ogola and prayed God to grant the deceased eternal rest.
Commending the Ogola family and the entire Sagbama community for giving him a befitting funeral, Governor Dickson also prayed God to grant them succour and the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
Earlier, head of the Ogola family, Mr. Fred Ogola expressed gratitude to Governor Dickson and his entourage for commiserating with them in their moment of grief.
Mr. Ogola, who said late Reverend Ogola was also a politician, described him as a legend, who impacted positively on many lives.
Reverend Edward Ogola was aged 80 years.
Senator Foster Ogola, member representing Bayelsa West Senatorial District, Justice Young Ogola, Chairman, Sagbama local government council, Mr. Michael Magbisa and other personalities received the Governor.
