The Department of State Security (DSS) in Kano on Thursday, paraded 9 suspected Inter state kidnappers , cattle rustlers , car snatchers and arm robbers. According to the Director of the command, they were arrested based on credible intelligence report. the arrests were made in kano and kaduna.
Umar Ali Mainasara was arrested at Kurna Fagge LGA, Ali Mohammad was arrested at Kwangila flyover, Zaria Kaduna State, while Auwalu Mohammad was arrested at Ja`en Kumbotso together with Habibu Haladu.
The suspects upon arrest were subjected to various techniques of interrogation which led them to the confession of the crimes. They also confessed their involvement in car snatching in kano and Kaduna States. The suspects mentioned their partners in crime are as, Ibrahim Sulaiman also known as Mallam Ibrahim and Emmanuel Ogbonna popularly known as Emeka.
The DSS had been on the trail of Mallam Ibrahim and Emeka after their alleged intrusion into the residence of former NSA, Abdullahi Sarki Mukhtar which led to the arrests of the following suspects
Ibrahim Sulaiman
Emmanuel Ogbonna
Moses Okoye
Sulaiman Magaji a Nigeriene who is identified as a gun runner and disposer of stolen vehicles for the suspects.
Kabiru Salisu a resident in the House of popular Islamic Scholar Sheikh Isyaku Rabiu is informant that aided in the robbery in Maimuna Sheikh Isyaku Rabiu’s House. Kabiru is alleged to have led the gang to the office of Abdussamad Isyaku Rabiu to steal money meant for the Zakat (poor alms).
Meanwhile Ali Muhammad who is very notorious kidnapper and cattle rustler has been handed over to the Kaduna State Police Command.
Four pictols-2 of which are Makrov models used by Nigerien Security Agents were recovered and were said to be supplied to Auwal and Mallam Ibrahim by Magaji.
One (1) pump action rifle- recoverd from MAINASARA: and thirty seven (37) 9mm rounds of life ammunitions.
Also other recovered items include money. Diamond gold jewelries, expensive wrappers vehicle.
The DSS command also mentioned that all the suspects confessed to the crimes and they will soon charged to court.
