
Organisers of Dunsin Sports Para Table Tennis have disclosed plans to host 2025 edition of the tournament in Lagos in July.
A statement by David Bolarinwa, Founder, Dunsin Sports, on Friday, said that this event aimed at showcasing talent of para-athletes and raising awareness of the importance of accessible and adaptive sports.
Bolarinwa said the tournamen would feature 32 top-tier para-athlete, 16 men and 16 women competing in a knockout format, culminating in the crowning of the top three players in both categories.
“DunsinSports is calling on well-meaning individuals, corporate organizations, and stakeholders to partner with us in advancing the cause of sports inclusivity.
“Your support will go a long way in providing necessary resources, enhancing visibility, and fostering an enabling environment for para-athletes to thrive.
“This tournament is to empower people with disabilities through sports participation, identify and nurture talented para table tennis players in Nigeria,” he said.
According to him, the tournament is to prepare players to compete in international para table tennis tournaments.
DunsinSports is an organisation dedicated to promoting the development of People Living with Disabilities (PWDs) in sports, ensuring that everyone, regardless of ability, has access to the transformative power of sports. (NAN)
