Employee, 34, arraigned over alleged theft

The Police in Lagos on Tuesday arraigned a 34-year-old man, Godfrey Ezekiel, before an Ojo Magistrates’ Court in Lagos over alleged stealing.

The defendant standing trial on a one-count charge bordering on theft, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge.

The Prosecutor, ASP. Simeon Uche, told the court that the defendant committed the offence sometime in 2018, while working as Manager of SSONSGLO Petrol Station in Ishashi Lagos.

He alleged that the defendant stole the sum of N800,000 belonging to one Shaibu Adamu, the owner of the company.

According to prosecutor, the offence contravenes the provisions of Section 287 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State, 2015.

The Magistrate, Mr. Ademola Adesanya, granted the defendant bail in the sum of N200,000 with two sureties in like sum.

He adjourned the case until Dec. 1, for mention. (NAN).
