Helsinki, Feb. 26, 2026 (Xinhua/NAN) Finland’s producer prices rose in January at their fastest annual pace in nearly three years, reversing a decline recorded in December, according to data released by Statistics Finland on Thursday.
The producer price index increased 1.9 per cent year-on-year in January, compared with a 0.8per cent drop the previous month.
It marked the strongest annual growth since March 2023.
Statistics Finland said higher prices for electricity and basic precious and non-ferrous metals were the main drivers of the increase.
The overall rise was partly offset by lower prices for refined petroleum products and paper goods.
Domestic producer prices climbed 4.9per cent from a year earlier, while export prices fell 1.0per cent.
On a monthly basis, producer prices rebounded 4.3per cent in January after a 1.0 per cent decline in December.
Separate data showed export prices decreased 1.1 per cent year-on-year, while import prices were down 2.4 per cent. (Xinhua/NAN)
