German federal police have been searching for 41 properties in three German states since early Wednesday morning in connection with suspected people trafficking and the brokering of bogus paternity declarations.
The focus of the raids is Berlin, where 38 properties were raided.
According to the spokesman, the searches were directed against 18 German men and 23 Vietnamese women.
The women were said to have entered Germany illegally.
It is alleged that they were provided with fictitious paternity declarations so they could claim legal residence status.
The police have been investigating the network since November when a woman came under suspicion of arranging the fictitious paternities. (dpa/NAN)
