The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) will clinch the governorship race in Edo State in September with a landslide victory, a group has predicted.
The group, Edo Equity and Emancipation Movement (EMM) in a press release on Thursday, through its president George Momoh Abudu in Auchi, said incumbent governor Godwin Obaseki is a trusted and reliable leader who has greatly touched the lives of Edo people, especially the youths.
According to Abubu, more than 80 per cent of Edo people are with the governor, who has fulfilled most of the promises he made to the people four years ago.
“The EMM will go to every part of Edo State to campaign and draw support for PDP in next month’s election. We will mobilise the people across boards and of voting age to come out en masse and support PDP in order to return Gov. Obaseki back to power.
“The incoming election is all about the people of Edo and their future, in order to end god-fatherism in the state and usher in peaceful and progressive development.”
Abubu said the movement is working continually with pensioners and women who are the true friends of Gov. Obaseki across the 18 local government areas of the state before the election for massive votes for the PDP.
