Kano, Jan. 14, 2026 (NAN) The Kano State Pilgrims Welfare Board has fixed Feb. 8, as final deadline for data capturing of intending pilgrims for the 2026 Hajj.
The Director-General of the Board, Alhaji Lamin Rabi’u disclosed this in a statement by the board’s Public Relations Officer, Mr Sulaiman Dederi on Wednesday in Kano.
Rabi’u explained that the deadline was in line with a directive from the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON), which required all states to complete data capturing for intending pilgrims on or before the stipulated date.
“Intending pilgrims who are yet to submit their international passports are therefore advised to do so before the deadline as no extension will be granted after Feb. 8,” he said.
He called on local government Hajj centre officers to intensify public enlightenment and awareness to ensure full compliance by all prospective pilgrims.
He also reassured the public of the pilgrim’s board’s commitment to ensuring a smooth, transparent and successful Hajj operation for 2026 pilgrimage. (NAN)
