Abuja, Dec. 26, 2024 (NAN) Independent Hajj Reporters (IHR), a Civil Society Organization (CSO) has charged Alhaji Alidu Shutti, the newly appointed acting Secretary, National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) to live up to expectations.
It’s National Coordinator, Malam Ibrahim Muhammad, made the call in a statement on Thursday in Abuja.
Muhammad emphasized the need for Alhaji Shutti to ensure synergy with all stakeholders within the Hajj and Umrah industry.
He commended the leadership of NAHCON for looking inward to appoint an acting secretary to the commission among its members of staff.
“We have always advocated for looking inwards whenever there is a vacancy within the commission because we believe the staff are better placed to serve better owing to their wealth of experience.
“Hajj being a highly technical and unique exercise requires people with practical on-field experience to steer it successfully.
“We are particularly delighted in Shutti’s choice because of his wealth of experience and rose through the ranks, Muhammad said.
The coordinator stated that Shutti had shown remarkable abilities in all the positions he held in NAHCON to date.
He also implored the leadership of NAHCON to look inward to fill vacant positions.
According to him, this development will motivate staff to strive for excellent, knowing they have a brighter prospect for career advancement. (NAN)
