The Apple Watch, Apple’s new smartwatch has been priced, a release date set, and the first wave of countries it will go on sale in confirmed.
With three different editions and multiple strap options how much does it actually cost?
When does Apple Watch go on sale?
The Apple Watch will go on pre-order on April 10 in Australia, Canada, China, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Japan, the UK and the US.
From that time it will also go into Apple stores in those countries allowing look at the new watch and try it on by appointment.
If you don’t need to try it on, you’ll be able to simply pre-order the watch via Apple’s website.
Customers who purchase online or in-store from Apple will be offered Personal Setup to customise and pair Apple Watch with their iPhone.
How much will Apple Watch cost?
There are three different editions of the Apple Watch: Apple Watch Sport, Apple Watch, and Apple Watch Edition.
Apple Watch Sport
The most affordable of the three, Apple Watch Sport costs £299 for the 38mm version and £339 for the 42mm version. There are 10 models available and all come with a Sports Band included in the price.
Apple Watch
The stainless steel version of the watch, it will cost £479 for the 38mm and £519 for the 42mm version. Here there are 20 models available.
The £479 price point gets you the watch and a Sports Band.
Spend £599 and you either get a Classic Buckle, Milanese Loop, or Leather Loop rather than Sports Band included in the box.
For £649 you get the Modern Buckle.
Spend £819 and you get a metal strap. In this case the Link Bracelet for the 38mm version, while £859 gets you the Link Bracelet for the 42mm version.
Want a black stainless steel Link Bracelet? You’ll have to part with £899 for the 38mm version and £949 for the 42mm version.
Apple Watch Edition
There are 8 Apple Watch Edition watches to choose from. The top of the range model which is made from 18-karat gold will be considerably more expensive. The 38mm 18-Carat rose gold case with a Sports Band starts at £8,000 at in the UK.
Opt for the 42mm 18-Carat Rose Gold Case with white sports band and you’ll need to give Apple £9,500.
A 42mm 18-Carat Yellow Gold Case with Black or Blue Classic Buckle costs £12,000.
Go for the 38mm 18-Carat Rose Gold Case with Rose Grey Modern Buckle or Bright Red Modern Buckle and the price jumps to £13,500.
Straps
You can buy more straps, of course you can, and these start at £39 for the 38mm sports band and quickly rise from there.
The Classic Buckle, Milanese Loop, and Leather Loop will cost £129, while the Modern Buckle will cost £209. Those happy to push the boat out can opt for the Link Bracelet at £379.
