The Chairman of Ikorodu Local Government Area, Lagos State, Mr. Wasiu Adesina, has appealed to market men and women to work together for the economic growth of Ikorodu.
Adesina made the appeal while presenting certificate of office to the newly-appointed Iyaloja-General (Market Leader) of Ikorodu Division, Mrs Busola Isikalu, at Ikorodu.
Adesina expressed the optimism that Isikalu’s office would play a huge role in improving trade in the division.
He charged her to do her best to also improve sanitation in markets in the division.
“Today, I am very happy to witness this ceremony. She has been given the opportunity to serve the division.
“Although, the process was long, today, we have come to the conclusion.
“I advise her to ensure she brings everybody together for smooth running of her office and eensure a neat market environment,” he said.
Ealier, the Traditional Ruler of Ikorodu, Oba Kabir Shotobi, advised Isikalu to keep to her promise of taking markets in the division to greater heights.
“I appointed Iyaloja, but it stirred a lot of uproar, but today it has come to reality, and I am happy they are dancing to the tune of what I saw would benefit Ikorodu,” the royal father said.

She urged market men and women in the division to support her to achieve success.
Responding, Isikalu thanked the traditional ruler and Ikorodu people for support.
“I want to inform all Ikorodu market men and women that the time for a positive change has come.
“In my tenure, God will take control and there will be development in the entire markets in the division,” she said. (NAN)
