The Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC) has commended the dedication and bravery of its female personnel in fighting insecurity across the nation.
The Ogun Commandant of the Corps, Mr. David Ojelabi, gave the commendation in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Abeokuta on Saturday.
Commemorating the United Nation’s 2024 International Women’s Day (IWD), marked annually on March 8, Ojelabi praised the female officers for choosing to serve in the security sector of the country.
“As International Women’s Day is celebrated annually and globally, NSCDC, Ogun Command, celebrates our women in the corps.
“In line with this year’s theme, which is ‘Invest in Women: Accelerate Progress’, the command will continue to do its best to invest and enhance their performance,” he said.
He assured that the efforts, contributions, loyalty, and dedication of the female personnel to the attainment of the goals of the corps would not go unappreciated.
Ojelabi, however, urged them to be more determined and committed to duty.
“I use this medium to appeal to you never to relent in your efforts.
“I canvass for more commitment on your part in tackling insecurity challenges as they spring up,” he added.
The NSCDC boss said the corps was aware that criminals often developed new tactics to attack unsuspecting members of the public and destroy critical facilities.
He, however, reiterated the commitment of the corps to ensure the safety of lives and property.
According to him, the corps is up to the task. (NAN)
