The Jigawa Pilgrims Welfare Board has fixed Jan. 30 as the registration deadline for all the state intending pilgrims for the 2025 Hajj exercise.
The Director-General (DG) of the board, Alhaji Ahmad Umar, made this known in a statement issued on Tuesday in Dutse by the board spokesman, Habibu Yusuf.
Umar said the new deadline was as a result of an adjustment by the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) that directed state pilgrim welfare boards to remit all collections by the 1st of February.
He said that the board has so far exhausted over 40 percent of its total allocation for this year’s Hajj since the commencement of the registration in Sept. 2024.
The DG urged intending pilgrims in the state to utilize the opportunity and make deposits for the Hajj before the new deadline so as to benefit from the board’s outstanding services in Hajj operations.
Intending pilgrims were earlier directed by the board pay N8.4 million deposit pending the official announcement of this year’s Hajj fare by the NAHCON
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that NAHCON has allocated 1,518 seats to the state for the 2025 Hajj. (NAN)
