An official of Kaduna State Pilgrims Welfare Agency, Malam Yaú Inuwa, has returned missing two phones worth N4m to the Owner, Shiek Muhajiadina Kano in Jeddah
The agency’s Public Relations Officer, Malam Yunusa Abdullahi announced this, in a statement, on Sunday in Kaduna.
Abdullahi said, “Malam Inuwa has done the state proud, when he handed over missing two mobile phones worth N4 million to the owner at the King Abdul Azeez International Airport Jeddah, during the return flight to Nigeria.
Sheikh Muhajjadina Kano was quoted as expressing gratitude to Malam Inuwa’s for returning the phones to him.
He said he forgot the phones while waiting to be screened at the airport.
Sheikh Kano said he left the phones on his seat, thinking they were in his pocket, when it was his turn to be screened, adding that he was alarmed when he discovered that the phones were not on him
According to the Sheikh , the mobile phones contain vital documents and information and they are expensive Phone 5 and Iphone 15 Promax models.
‘’The airport security prevented us from going downstairs where we sat earlier, to find out if the phones were still there. They insisted that once passengers are screened, they can’t leave the boarding area.
‘’We were in a dilemma on what to do, then a Kaduna State Pilgrim Agency official, approached us and declared that he found the phones where we had earlier sat before we were called for screening,’’ he said.
“Sheikh, who is Kano State Hajj official , said that he was elated when the phones were returned to him, just as he prayed to Allah to reward Malam Inuwa abundantly for his good deed.
Abdullahi said Malam Inuwa is the Pilgrims Registration Officer of Giwa Local Government of Kaduna State and the Jeddah Coordinator for the return journey.
He said besides the two phones, he also returned seven bags belonging to other passengers.
Speaking on how he found the owner, Inuwa said that he saw a group of people lamenting over the loss of mobile phones at the boarding area of the airport.
Inuwa said that what he did was in line with his duty as a Hajj official, adding that pilgrims should watch over their belongings, especially passports, at the airport. (NAN
