Kano, March 4, 2026 (NAN) The Kano Road and Traffic Agency (KAROTA), says it has adopted proactive measures to sustain support to families of staff who died in active service.

Its Managing Director, Faisal Mahmud-Kabir, said this in a statement by the Public Relations Officer of the agency, Abubakar Ibrahim, on Wednesday in Kano.

Mahmud-Kabir, who spoke during the distribution of foodstuffs and cash to families of  deceased personnel, said the agency would pursue other rights and privileges due to the deceased staff to enable their families live comfortably.

“We assure the affected families of the KAROTA readiness to provide legal backing to ensure its sustainability,” he said.

The statement also quoted Mahmud Haido, Director of Administration/General Services of the agency, as announcing plans to introduce an annual “KAROTA Day” to honour deceased personnel and recognise staff for outstanding performances.

Some of the beneficiaries, Hasiya Bello  and Basiru Ali, commended the gesture, adding it would improve their social and economic wellbeing. (NAN)
