Ibadan, March 11, 2026(NAN) The police on Wednesday, dragged a 29-year-old man, Damola Bankole, before an Iyaganku Magistrates’ Court in Ibadan, for allegedly stealing a motorcycle worth N650,000.
Bankole, whose address was not provided is standing trial on charges bordering on conspiracy and stealing.
He, however, pleaded not guilty to the charges.
The prosecutor, David Adepoju, told the court that the defendant committed the offence on Dec. 29, 2025 at about 7.10 a.m. at the Ido area of Ibadan.
He alleged that the defendant conspired with others now at large, to steal a bajaj motorcycle worth N650,000, belonging to one Mr Oyewumi Kolawole.
The prosecutor said that the defendant was eventually arrested following investigations.
The offences contravene the provisions of sections 390(9) and 516 of the Criminal Law of Oyo State, 2000.
The Magistrate, Mrs Kausarat Ayofe, granted the defendant bail in the sum of N200,000, with two sureties in like sum.
She adjourned the case until May 18, for hearing. (NAN)
