A man, Taiwo Onatunde, 41, on Wednesday, appeared before an Abeokuta Magistrates’ Court in Isabo for allegedly stealing three vehicles and other valuables.
Onatunde, whose address was not provided, pleaded not guilty to the four-count charge bordering on conspiracy and stealing.
The Prosecutor, Insp Opeyemi Lawal, told the court that the defendant committed the offences on July 10 at KIDOT ‘O’ Event Centre, Quarry Road, Abeokuta.
Lawal said that the defendant allegedly stole one Toyota Camry car with registration number SMK 141 KA valued at N5 million property of one Mr Shofela Kolawole.
The prosecutor added that the defendant unlawfully entered the car with intent to commit the felony, but the owner raised an alarm and Onatunde was apprehended before he could drive it away.
He further alleged that on June 22, at PARK-IN Hotel, Kuto, Abeokuta, Onatunde stole the sum of N280,000 and one power bank from a Toyota Corolla car, property of one Mrs Latifat Oladipupo.
Lawal also told the court that on Nov. 25, 2025, at Governor’s Office Arcade, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, the defendant allegedly stole one Toyota Camry with registration number LAR 481 AE, valued at N5 million, property of Mr Kehinde Durosomo.
He also stated that the defendant on July 1 at Governor’s Office, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, allegedly stole one Toyota Camry car with registration number AAB 351 AE valued at N3 million, property of one Mr Morakinyo Akinbode.
According to the prosecutor, the offences contravened the provisions of Section 390 (9) and 509 of the Criminal Code, Laws of Ogun, 2006.
The Magistrate, Miss O.T. Odubanjo, granted the defendant N5 million bail with one surety in like sum.
Odubanjo ordered that the surety must be a licensed bondsman registered with the Ogun State Judiciary.
She adjourned the case until Sept. 18 for hearing. (NAN).
