A 45-year-old man, Noah Lawal, on Friday appeared in
an Ikeja Magistrates’ Court in Lagos State over alleged N5.2 million land fraud.
Lawal, whose address was not provided, is facing a two-count charge of conspiracy and fraud.
The Prosecutor, Josephine Ikhayere, told the court that Lawal committed the offences with some others still at large on Dec. 29, 2025 at No. 8 Ladiga Street, Ikorodu, Lagos.
Ikhayere added that the defendant collected N5.2 million from the complainant, Ganiyat Lawal, for a plot of land, which he failed to give her.
He said all efforts by the complainant to get back her money or the land proved abortive.
Ikhayere said that the offences contravened sections 313 and 411 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.
However, the defendant pleaded not guilty to charges against him, and the Magistrate, Mr Lateef Owolabi, granted him bail in the sum of ₦600,000 with sureties in like sum and adjourned the case until June 24 for mention. (NAN)
