MBA_Logo_2The Master of Business Administration (MBA) Renewables is officially accredited by the Foundation for International Business Administration Accreditation (FIBAA). FIBAA highlighted that “the content of the programme and the reachable learning outcomes are such that the students achieve employability above average”. MBA Renewables is offered by the Beuth University of Applied Sciences in Berlin jointly with the Renewables Academy AG (RENAC) since 2011.
The excellent employability is achieved, among other reasons, through the contact with representatives from the industry and the systematically anticipation to the job market requirements. “I had the strong will to work in renewables”, said MBA Renewables graduate Anna Katharina Meyer, who successfully completed her Master’s Thesis in 2014. “Without this MBA in my CV, I would have not had the chance to change job.”
According to the REN21’s Global Status Report 2014, the employment rate in the renewable energy industry has been rising for the past years. Currently, about 6.5 million people worldwide work directly or indirectly in a sector, which needs more than ever highly qualified professionals in order to adapt to the increasingly globalised markets.
In this context, MBA Renewables is designed to equip professionals with the advanced interdisciplinary management skills for executive positions in the renewable energy and energy efficiency industries. The programme combines economic, technical, legal, political and organisational knowledge. In addition, students gain an overview of various green technologies as well as an understanding of international energy policies, supporting mechanisms and their applications. Moreover, the two-week on campus time in Berlin with field trips offers an excellent opportunity for networking and getting an insight into the renewable energy and energy efficiency industries.
