
Nasarawa State House of Assembly, has restated it commitment to improve the welfare of its staff for optimal productivity.
Mr Yusuf Chunbaya, the Chairman, House Committee on House of Assembly Welfare, said this when he hosted Parliamentary Staff Association of Nigeria (PASAN) Nasarawa State Chapter in his office on Wednesday in Lafia.
He said that the improvement of the Assembly staff welfare would not only promote productivity but would promote peace, unity, commitment and motivation.
Chunbaya appreciated union for the visit and urged them to continue to be dedicated to their duties at all times.
The committee chairman also promised that the Assembly would address their challenges including training, allowances, leave grant, retirement benefits and modern clinic among others.
“I will do my best to make sure that all of your challenges are addressed for peace and optimal productivity.
“This will also go a long way in improving on your standard of living,” he said
Earlier, Mr Suleiman Oshafu, the PASAN Chairman, said that their visit was to appreciate the lawmaker for his commitment to better the standard of living of the staff.
“We are here to thank Mr Speaker and you for your commitment in improving on our welfare” he said.
The PASAN Chairman, however, identified some of their challenges to include delayed payment of leave grant, retirement benefits, allowances amongst other benefits.
He also called for the provision of more administrative blocks and upgrade of the Assembly clinic.( NAN)
