Nigerian diaspora medical doctor donates world class equipment to JUTH

A Nigerian medical doctor, Nimzing Ladep, has donated a digital endoscopy reporting software machine to the Jos University Teaching Hospital (JUTH).

Ladep, who is a consultant hepatology at the Norfolk and Norwich University hospital (NHS foundation) in the United Kingdom, who developed the software, made the donation on Friday in Jos.

The consultant, who was a former staff at the Jos University Teaching Hospital (JUTH), before his relocation, said that the donation was made to ease the job of gastroenterologists, as he was conversant with the challenges of specialists in his field.

He said that endoscopy reporting software is a type of medical reporting software, which is used by gastroenterologist to generate reports on endoscopic procedures.

Ladep said the software is able to generate reports in real-time, allowing healthcare professionals to quickly review and act on the results of the procedure.

Earlier, Dr Pokop Bupwatda, the Chief Medical Director (CMD) of JUTH, who received the equipment, commended the consultant for making the donation to the institution.
