Kaduna, Feb. 4, 2026 (NAN) The Chairman of the Kaduna State Volleyball Association (KADSVA), Mr Musa Nimrod, has awarded a total of N2.8 million as scholarships and stipends to promising volleyball players in the state.
The gesture, which is an annual intervention, was disclosed in a statement signed by KADSVA board member representing media, Okpani Dickson, and made available to newsmen in Kaduna on Wednesday.
According to him, the scholarship scheme covered students in tertiary institutions across the country who are active volleyball players representing Kaduna State.
He said the Secretary of KADSVA, Adamu Mohammed, explained that 14 players benefited under the tertiary institutions category, with each receiving N80,000.
The beneficiaries were: Agape Sunday, Ramatu Abdulmalik, Joy Lawrence, Joy Osumuriyi, Fani Stephen, Patience Abuh, Ramatu Hamza, Emmanuel Nicholas, Jethro Danlami, Chinoye John, Esther Ogazi, Jamilu Musa, Bobai Andrew and Mohammed Abubakar.
Dickson further disclosed that seven elite players also benefited from the association’s monthly stipend programme, receiving N30,000 each for eight months, amounting to N240,000 per beneficiary.
Those who received the stipends were Emmanual Alex, Itodo Ojonimi, Emmanuel Samuel, Isaac A. James, Rosemary Sunday, Pamela Bawa and Blessing Okpara.
The beneficiaries expressed excitement over the support and commended the Chairman, who also doubles as the President of the Nigeria Volleyball Federation (NVBF), for his continued commitment to the welfare and development of volleyball players in the state.
They also offered prayers for God’s continued protection and blessings upon him. (NAN)
