The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Kano State Command, has begun a one-week training programme for operatives of Private Guard Companies (PGCs) across the state.
The State Commandant, Mohammed Hassan-Agalama declared the training open on Tuesday in Kano.
He said the initiative was aimed at strengthening safety and security in the state.
According to him, the programme is designed to enhance the professional capacity, operational efficiency, and service delivery of private security personnel in line with the NSCDC’s mandate to supervise and regulate Private Guard Companies.
“The programme will equip participants with modern security techniques, intelligence gathering skills, access control procedures, ethics, discipline, and effective collaboration with other security agencies,” he said.
Hassan-Agalama urged participants to use the training to improve their knowledge and conduct, stressing that professionalism and adherence to regulations were essential in private security operations.
He reaffirmed the command’s commitment to continuous monitoring, supervising, and capacity building for private guards to ensure improved service delivery in the state.
Earlier, Dr. Idris Pukuma, Kano State Chairman of the Association of Licensed Private Security Practitioners of Nigeria, commended the commandant for organizing the training.
Pukuma assured the corps that more private security companies would join as the exercise progresses. (NAN)
