Ogun FRSC to train petroleum, gas company drivers on safety
The Ogun Command of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) says it will embark on training drivers of petroleum and gas companies on safety measures to stem road crashes in the state.
Mr Anthony Uga, the state sector commander, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Tuesday in Ota that the exercise was meant to properly train the drivers on how to drive on highways.
According to him, the FRSC will be collaborating with the state government to carry out the training session on drivers of petroleum and gas companies.
Uga said that the training would help to reduce some of the disaster and explosion across the state.
“The FRSC will continue to train and retrain drivers to prevent avoidable accident and save more lives in case of any mishap.
“In addition, we have also stepped up our vigilance and sensitisation to educate the motorists on importance of safety,” he said.
The sector commander said that free training was also ongoing for other drivers as part of the commission’s public enlightenment, especially at motor parks.
According to him, the FRSC will be at Kuto Motor Park in Abeokuta on Wednesday to sensitise the drivers to desist from excessive speed and other measures that can drastically stem road crashes in the state. (NAN)
