Peter Obi dumps APGA for PDP, to replace Anyim as Nigeria’s SGF

peter obiThe former governor of Anambra State , Mr Peter Obi on Tuesday defected to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) from All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA).

Obi declared his defection while hosting some members of the PDP in the South-East led by Deputy Senate President, Senator Ike Ekweremadu to his Onitsha home.

Others in the team include the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Emeka Ihedioha; Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator Pius Anyim and Chairman of the South East Governors Forum, Chief Theodore Orji.

Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Dr Godswill Akpabio and Governor Martin Elechi of Ebonyi; former National Chairman of PDP, Okwesilieze Nwodo; former Senate President Adolphus Wabara and Senator Uche Chukwumerije were also present.

the members of the Federal Executive Council at the occasion  were Chief Emeka Wogu, Prof.Chinedu Nebo, Mr Osita Chidoka, Prof Valerie Onwualiri among many others.

Peter Obi is to replace Senator Pius Anyim as the Secretary to Government of the Federation (SGF) this week as Ministers and the SGF have been asked by President Jonathan to resign their appointments if they are to contest for elective positions. Anyim is being tipped as the favourable successor to Governor Martin Elechi of Ebonyi
