Two brothers, Dele Oyelami, 52, and Tunji Oyelami, 45, on Thursday, appeared before an Iyaganku Magistrates’ Court, Ibadan, charged with assault and threatening violence.
The brothers, who were charged with conspiracy, assault, threatening violence, and conduct likely to cause the breach of peace, pleaded not guilty to the charges.
The Prosecutor, ASP Femi Olanibi said the defendants committed the offences on Dec. 25, 2025, at Ogbomoso, Oyo State.
Olanibi alleged that the defendants deprived their neighbor, Samson Ayinde, of his liberty and detained him in a room overnight.
He alleged that the defendants also unlawfully assaulted Ayinde and inflicted injury on his body.
According to the Prosecutor, the defendants also threatened with violence Michael Adeyemo and Oluwasayo Adeoye, by inciting hoodlums to attack them.
He said the defendants conducted themselves in a manner likely to cause the breach of peace by engaging in such acts.
Olanibi said the offences contravened provisions of Sections 355, 365, 249(d) and 516 of the Criminal Laws of Oyo State, 2000.
The Magistrate, Mrs Adebola Adeola granted the defendants bail in the sum of N500,000 each and with two sureties each in like sum.
She adjourned the case until Sept.3, for hearing. (NAN).
