Two men, Femi Omisakin,35; and Saheed Quadri,37; were on Wednesday arraigned before a Badagry Magistrates’ Court in  Lagos State, over alleged stealing of 13 fairly used tyres valued  N180,000.
The defendants whose addresses were unknown are facing a  charge of stealing.
The Prosecutor, ASP. Ikem Uko, said that the defendants committed the offence on Oct. 7, at about 2.00  p.m., at Badagry Motor Park.
Uko said that the defendants allegedly stole 13 pieces of fairly used tyres valued  N180,000, property of one Sulaiman Abusi, the complainant.
The prosecutor said that the defendants were caught when they were carrying the tyres away and they were  handed  over to the police for prosecution.
Uko said that the offence contravened Section 287 of the Criminal code, Law of Lagos, 2015.
The defendants, however,  pleaded not guilty to the charge levelled against them.
The Chief Magistrate, Mr. Patrick Adekomaiya, granted the defendants bail in the sum of N200,000 each with two sureties in like sum.
Adekomaiya ordered that the sureties must reside within the court’s jurisdiction and be gainfully employed with an evidence of tax payment to the Lagos State Government.

The magistrate adjourned the case until Nov. 8, for further hearing. (NAN)
