Police confirm abduction of Catholic priest in Adamawa

Ibadan, Aug. 6, 2025 (NAN) The Oyo State Police Command is collaborating with the Park Management System (PMS) transport union to address the issue of unregistered vehicles and tricycles, as well as to combat crimes within the state.

This is contained in a statement issued by the Police Public Relations Officer, CSP Adewale Osifeso, on Wednesday.

The partnership, he said, was eached during a sensitisation visit of the police management team to the PMS Headquarters in Ibadan.

The police said that the visit was aimed at improving the overall safety and security of the state by tackling illegal transportation activities and criminal activity.

Osifeso added that the Police Command recognises the important role played by the Park Management System in maintaining order within the transportation sector.

“During the visit, the police management team led by DCP Usen James, emphasised the necessity for collaborative efforts to tackle increasing concerns around public safety, especially incidents of overcrowding on motorcycles and misuse of unregistered vehicles and tricycles.

“The team underscored the importance of proactive strategies in crime prevention,” he said.

Osifeso said that the management team recommended that members of the park should adopt identification jackets, which would help to easily identify authorised personnel and provide enhanced security and assurance for the public.

In his response, Oyo State PMS Chairman,  Alhaji Tomiwa Omolewa, appreciated the Police authorities for their commitment to community safety and reaching out to them.

Omolewa noted that the collaboration was a significant step toward achieving a peaceful transportation environment and a shared commitment to creating a safer, more secure environment for residents and visitors in the state.

In attendance at the meeting are Deputy Commissioner of Police, Operations, Oyo State Command, DCP Usen James; Assistant Commissioner of Police, State Intelligence Department, ACP Martins Bamigboye Ekanem.

Others were Oyo State Police Command Public Relations Officer, CSP Osifeso Adewale and the Executives of the Park Management System led by Alhaji Tomiwa Omolewa. (NAN)
