Railway Corporation reiterates commitment to enhance productivity

The management of the Nigeria Railway Corporation (NRC) on Thursday reiterated its commitment to improve productivity through capacity building of its members of staff.

The Managing Director of the corporation, Mr. Fidet Okhiria, said this at the beginning of a two-day capacity building workshop for the management and the staff of the corporation in Lagos.

Okhiria said that the training was an opportunity for the participants to update themselves with knowledge in modern transport industry ‘s operations.

He advised the staff to make the best use of the refresher course in order to enhance their productivity.

According to him, now that the world is going digital, we must brace-up to the challenges in order to discharge our official duties optimally.

“One of the cardinal objectives of my administration is to equip my management and the staff with skills and tools for efficient and effective service delivery in the corporation.

“Hence, the imperative of training all cadres of staff in the corporation. I charge the workforce to always display the spirit of teamwork during and after this programme,” he said.

The Corporation’s Director of Administration and Human Resources, Dr. Monsurat Omotayo, said the training was a kind gesture from the management.

Omotayo urged the staff to dedicate themselves to the selfless service of the corporation.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the management staff were attending the training at the Administrative Staff College of Nigeria, (ASCON) Badagry, Lagos State

Some of the participants at the programme expressed their appreciation to the corporation for organizing the programme.

A staff member from the Human Resource Department commended the corporation’s management for organizing the training for its staff.

Also, another member of staff from the Procurement Department said she enjoyed the training because it was educative and availed her the benefit of refreshing her knowledge. (NAN)
