Dutse, March 2, 2026 (NAN) The Jigawa Government has commenced the annual distribution of Ramadan food items to the 3,682 civil servants in the state.

Gov. Umar Namadi during the commencement of the exercise in Dutse, on Monday, said that the items would be taken to all MDAs in the state for onward distribution to workers under them.

‘’These include those in the office of the Head of the Civil Service (HoS) and Secretary to the State Government (SSG),’’ he said.

The governor, who commenced the exercise with distribution to the 602 staff of the Government House, said that theirs include monetary donation.

According to him, the gesture is aimed at helping the workers to feed their families with ease during the Ramadan period.

”Today is a special day for us as we assist you in this Holy Month with this annual welfare programme for Ramadan extended to civil servants and other workers.

“Govt House staff will have cash assistance on top of the food items, because stay longer than the usual official closing time, and most of them wait for us until we close for the day, no matter how long we stay in the office.

”So this is part of our ways to say thank you for waiting for us to close,” Namadi said.
