A security guard, Misubahu Hassan, was on Tuesday docked in a Chief Magistrates’ Court in Wuse, Abuja for allegedly stealing building supplies from his employer’s site.
The police charged Hassan with theft.
Hassan however pleaded not guilty
The Prosecution Counsel, Festus Ajayi, told the court that the complainant, Malam Abdullahi Garba, reported the matter at the Maitama Police station on June 8.
Ajayi informed the court that, the complainant discovered that while the defendant was duty, he stole “marine boards” and some bamboo woods worth N1.1 million.
He said that during police investigation the defendant confessed to the crime.
He said the offence is contrary to the provisions of Section 289 of the Penal Code.
Magistrate A. E Sadiq, granted the defendant bail in the sum of N1 million with one surety in like sum.
Sodiq adjourned the matter until Aug.10,for trial.(NAN)
