A 29-year old man, Abiodu Adedotun, was on Thursday arraigned before a Chief Magistrates’ Court in Wuse, Abuja, over alleged theft of N424,000.
Adedotun, a Security Guard, who address was not given is being charged with theft, to which he pleaded not guilty.
The Prosecutor, Festus Ajayi told the court that the complainant, Alexander Obarchi, reported the matter at the Mabushi Police Station, on June 10.
Ajayi said that while on duty, Adedotun stole two aluminum windows and fence wires valued N120,000 and N304,000 respectively.
He said that he offence contravened Section 289 of the penal code.
The Chief Magistrate, Ekpeyong Inyang, admitted the defendant to bail in the Sum of N500,000, with one surety who must provide valid means of identification.
She further ordered that the surety must reside within the court’s jurisdiction, and that the court registrar must verify the surety’s residence.
Inyang adjourned the matter until July 30 for hearing.(NAN).
