Ikeja, Feb. 13, 2026 (NAN) An Ikeja Chief Magistrates’ Court on Friday, ordered the remand of a 35-year-old man, Gabriel Nwosu, at the Kirikiri Correctional Centre, for allegedly abducting and sexually assaulting a teenage girl.
The Chief Magistrate, Mrs Omolara Kushanu, did not take the defendant’s plea.
She directed that he be kept in custody until March 15, pending advice from the Director of Public Prosecution (DPP).
The defendant, a trader residing at 16, Ajulo Bus Stop, Akakuko, Lagos, is charges with abduction and sexual assault.
The prosecutor, ASP Adegoke Ademigbuji, alleged that the defendant committed the offence between Dec. 20 and Dec. 27, 2025, at the defendant’s residence.
Ademigbuji alleged that the victim, a 16-year-old girl, had a disagreement with her aunt and left home.
He also alleged that the defendant met her on the road, took her to his house, and sexually assaulted her before attempting to contact her relatives using the phone numbers she provided.
The prosecutor said that the offences contravene the provisions of sections 137 and 141 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.(NAN)
