The troops of Operation Fansan Yamma have rescued seven kidnapped farmers and recovered motorcycles from bandits that attacked farmers in Gandi community in Rabah local government area of Sokoto state.
A credible security source from the area disclosed the operational success to the News Agency of Nigeria in Sokoto.
The source said troops of 8 Division of Nigerian Army deployed in Gandi undertook the operation and during the encounter one civilian sustained a gunshot wound from bandits.
The source said the incident occurred on Tuesday morning, adding that the wounded victim has been taken to general hospital Gandi for treatment. (NAN)
