Igboeze North/Udenu (Enugu State), Feb. 3, 2024 (NAN) Very few voters turned out on Saturday for accreditation and voting in the rerun election held in Udenu and Igboeze local government areas of Enugu State.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that following the accreditation of the few voters that turned up and the early arrival of election materials, voting commenced at Orba polling units 1 and 11.
Election materials have been distributed to various polling units from the Igboeze North headquarters at Ogrute, Enugu Ezike, in the presence of heavy security.
NAN also reports that security personnel have positioned themselves in strategic locations in the area to ensure the maintenance of law and order for peaceful voting.
The presence of law enforcement agents in the area has had a positive effect, as voting is going on peacefully.
The youth leader of the Ozzi community, Mr. Hillary Azegba, who spoke with NAN, said there was calm everywhere.
“I am in my ward, Ozzi Ward 7. Everything is calm here,” he said. (NAN)
