WACCIMA calls for labour-friendly government, infrastructural overhaul

Warri Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (WACCIMA) has called for a more labor-friendly government at both the state and federal levels.

The President of the chambers, Mr Francis Eruotor, made the call in a statement he issued in Warri on Wednesday to commemorate the 2024 May Day celebration.

The WACCIMA boss said the labor-friendly attitude could be in the form of making infrastructural rehabilitation a priority with the view to building a more harmonious worker-government relationship.

“The organized private sector would like to see the development of power plants, the reactivation of moribund refineries, and easing of the transportation system for Nigeria workers.

“This will be in addition to checking the rise in the cost of commodities to address hunger,” he said.

Erutor noted that if both the state and federal governments would successfully tackle infrastructure deficits with sincerity and determination, the country would witness an economic boom.

He added that the incessant face-off between workers and the government would also become a thing of the past. (NAN)
