Ikeja, Feb. 17, 2026(NAN) Two persons, Damilola Afolabi and Awoniyi Opeyemi, were on Tuesday arraigned before an Ikeja Magistrates’ Court, Lagos, over alleged fraud of N25 million
Afolabi, 27, and Opeyemi, 32, are facing a four-count charge of conspiracy, fraudulent conversion, stealing and obtaining money by false pretense.
The Prosecutor, SP Josephine Ikayere, told the court that the defendants and others now at large, committed the offences in July 2025 at Sonnex Packaging Nigeria Limited, Ojota, Lagos.
Ikayere said that Afolabi and Opeyemi conspired to fraudulently transfer the sum of N3.2 million belonging to the company.
She further said that the defendants converted property belonging to the company valued 25 million to their personal use.
The prosecutor said that the offences contravened Sections 280(b) 286, 325 and 411 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.
The defendants pleaded not guilty to the charge.
The Magistrate, Mr L.A. Owolabi, granted the defendants bail in the sum of N1.5 million each, with two responsible sureties.
Owalabi adjourned the case until March 26, for mention.(NAN)
