Woman, 58, docked over alleged shop breaking, stealing

Ibadan, Feb. 19, 2026 (NAN) A woman, Omowunmi Foluke, 58,  on Thursday, appeared before an Iyaganku Magistrates’ Court, Ibadan, for allegedly breaking into a shop and stealing N1.2 million worth of building materials

Foluke, whose address was not provided was charged with shop breaking and stealing, to which she pleaded not guilty.

The Prosecutor, Insp. Samuel Owolabi told the court that the defendant committed the offences on Feb. 1, at 9.00 a.m, at Agbeni area of Ibadan.

He alleged that the defendant broke into the shop of one Yusuf Rahamon and stole building materials valued at N1,200,250.

Owolabi alleged that the items included tiles, pipes, cement, wires, sockets, among others.

He said that the offences contravene provisions of Sections 390(9) and 413 of the Criminal Laws of Oyo State, 2000.

The Magistrate, Mrs Gladys Olanrewaju granted the defendant N500.000 bail and with two sureties in like sum.

She adjourned the case until April 1, for hearing. (NAN)
