Man docked over alleged malicious damage

One Wasiu Bello (age not given), was on Wednesday docked in an Iyaganku Magistrates’ Court, Ibadan, over  alleged malicious damage.

Bello who was charged with conspiracy, malicious damage, forcible entry, and threat to life, however, pleaded not guilty to the charges.

The prosecutor, ASP Femi Olanibi, said that the defendant committed the offences in February 2026, at Jigan Etile village area of Ibadan.

Olanibi alleged that the defendant forcibly entered a parcel of land belonging to one Ajayi Odeyale and family.

He alleged that the defendant and others at large damaged the corner piece and erected structures in the piece of land.

The prosecutor also alleged that Bello threatened the life of Odeyale and other members of his family.

He said the offences contravened the provisions of Sections 516, 80, 451 and 86 of the Criminal Laws of Oyo State, 2000.

Magistrate Adebola Adeola granted the defendant bail in the sum of N500, 000 and two sureties in like sum.

Adeola held that one of the sureties must be a blood relation to the defendant and adjourned the case until Aug.13, for hearing. (NAN)
