The National Directorate of Employment (NDE), in Adamawa has successfully trained no fewer than 540 beneficiaries of Special Public Works, on Advanced Business Training.
Speaking at the end of the two days training on Tuesday in Yola, the Director-General (DG) of NDE, Malam Abubakar Fikpo urged the participants to put the training into practice.
Fikpo said this would make them to be self-reliant and employers of labour.
Represented by Malam Ibrahim Faisal, NDE Adamawa Coordinator, the DG said the training was aimed at empowering participants to make judicious use of the allowances paid by the Federal Government.
In her remarks, Director, Special Public Works, NDE headquarters, Mrs. Roseline Olaomi, said objective of the training was to improve capacity of beneficiaries to manage enterprises efficiently and effectively.
Olaomi who was represented by Mr. Idriss Haruna, Principal Public Works Officer, told participants that the training was to enhance their productivity and enable them know rules of business in Nigeria.
She commended those that had already started their businesses and urged those that were yet to start, to key in; to be self-reliant.
According to her, the allowance given is enough for them to start a business, create wealth for themselves and create employment opportunities in the state and country at large.
Mr. Philip Joshua, who spoke on behalf of the participants commended the Federal Government for the opportunity and assured that they would make judicious use of the allowances.
According to Joshua, the training has exposed them to business ideas and how to manage the little they have for a successful business, among others. (NAN).
